Daily Painting, "On The Moor" 8x10, oil SOLD

The moors of northern England and Scotland are a wild and wooly place, often cold and windy and very rugged.

SOLD
I painted this using both brush and palette knife.

I tried to get a variety of strokes and hues in this piece.  I wanted plenty of texture to suggest the ruggedness of the British landscape.

Thank you, Donna Vines, for allowing me to use your wonderful image of your recent trip.

Enjoy your weekend!

OUR ENGLAND IS A GARDEN, 6X8, Oil, Canvas Board

Our England is a garden,
and such gardens are not made
by singing "Oh, how beautiful",
and sitting in the shade.

A beautiful "English garden" in Hyde Park, London.

It was like walking into a fairy tale.

Surely elves live there.

GARDENS OF HYDE PARK, 7X5, OIL ON CANVAS BOARD SOLD

How many gentle flowers grow
In an English country garden?
I'll tell you now of some I know
And those I'll miss I hope you'll pardon
Daffodils, heart's ease and phlox
Meadowsweet and lilly stalks
Gentain, lupine and tall hollihocks
Roses, foxgloves, snowdrops, forget-me-nots
In an English country garden.

MORNING IN HYDE PARK, 6x12, Oil on Stretched Canvas SOLD

SOLD

Oh, to be in England
Now that April's there,
And whoever wakes in England
Sees, some morning, unaware,
That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf
Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,
While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough
In England - now!!

Robert Browning

Painted from a photo reference taken on a recent trip to Hyde Park.
