HENS AND CHICKS II, 12X12, OIL

This is the companion to my previous post.  If you look closely, you will see a baby jade plant nestled in the pot too.

Some of you may not be familiar with Etsy, so I decided to start showing some of the great items I see there.  Everything is hand-made or vintage on Etsy and I have found some of the most unique items.  It is my favorite shopping place these days.  This is a cute notions book from Karamagic.  Made of vintage materials with a bright gingham print bow for closure.  Wouldn't you love to pull this out of your suitcase when you find a button has popped off?  It's enough to make you WANT that to happen!  And only $7.00!  What a great "just because" gift for your best friend.

ANTIQUE FRENCH TEAPOT, 16X16, OIL

I am sort of an Etsy fanatic and I found this teapot listed on a site http://www.dandeliondecor.etsy.com/.  I contacted the owner of the site, a very nice French woman, and she gave me permission to use her photograph for this painting.  She still has the teapot, so if anyone wants to buy it, along with my painting, it can happen!  Wouldn't that be fun?

Today is my granddaughter, Courtney's birthday.  She is sweet 16 today.  Remember when we used to say "sweet 16 and never been kissed"?  Hmmm, I will need to talk to her about that.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COURTNEY!

CAROLINA STORM, 8X10, ABSTRACT, CA SCHIFF, OIL SOLD

Life has been very very busy for me this week. My little internet work took a hit!
This painting was featured on Etsy's gift guide and storque. To give you an idea of what that means, I usually get 20-40 hits a day on my little abstract site, Carolonedge, on Wednesday I had 2083 hits, 700+ on Thursday. Have not checked today, but the firestorm is over, now I am just mopping up. If this sounds like I am complaining, I"M NOT, it was so exciting, and I was tied to the keyboard, responding to inquirys for 2 days.
The power of Etsy is amazing. I read they have over 1 million subscribers. Maybe this went out to 100,000, who all saw my painting. 2083 cared enough to click through to my site. I find it to be a great site and I am constantly amazed at how helpful and caring the other sellers on the site can be. GOOOOO ETSY!!!!!

MILK AND COOKIES, 8X10, OIL

Today is going to be a fun day. My husband and I are driving south for a celebratory brunch with our daughter and her children. They live a little over 1 1/2 hours away from us, so we usually meet somewhere in the middle. The cause of celebration today is our 45th wedding anniversary. On one hand, it seems we have been married forever, but really, 45 YEARS! Where did the time go???
A week or so ago I blogged about a little Spring Scavenger hunt the Original Artists on Etsy Team was planning. It starts Saturday morning! One of our team members has donated an item as the prize and all you have to do to win it, is to FIND IT! If you are interested in trying, go to our team store now, pick a team member and go to their shop. Follow the clues until you find the treasure. If you think you have found the item, post the item number on our team blog in a comment. We also ask that you tell us about your favorite item that you found during the hunt. Good luck!
One more thing, I have been bestowed with the blogger award again. I am so very pleased to get this award multiple times, so, Fabio, I cannot thank you enough that you think I am worthy.
I will not bore you all with another list of favorite things, and although, I could easily pick another 7 favorite artists, I think I have had my time in the sun. So, I will just urge all of you to visit the site of Fabio Cembranelli and be amazed by his skill in watercolor. He is a wonderful, talented artist, and cute too!

TREASURIES ON ETSY!

http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=47310

http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=47503

Lucky me! I just discovered that my artwork is being featured in two treasuries on Etsy! Etsy is such a fun site. If you have not been there, I definitely recommend it. I am just amazed at all the wonderful home-made items that are available for purchase there and I also love to check out the vintage stuff. They also sell art/craft supplies. I have joined one of their "teams" called Original Artists on Etsy, and we are organizing an Easter Egg Hunt. One of the members will donate an item, we will all leave "clues" on our sites, and the first person to identify the item will win it. Fun, don't you think? Keep checking back on my Etsy site if you are interested in joining the hunt. No purchase necessary.
