Daily Painting, Oil, "Toy Sailboat" 6x8" SOLD

Dedicated to Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris where boys, big and small, still sail toy boats with large sticks.

SOLD

If you have been to Paris, you must have visited Jardin du Luxembourg and wondered around the pool surrounded by toy boat vendors and small children.  On a sunny day, the pool is surrounded by hundreds of Parisians, basking in the sun, eating and drinking wine, just enjoying the beautiful weather and the glorious gardens.

After a visit, stroll across the avenue and have a leisurely lunch at one of the sidewalk cafes.  Linger at the table for hours, eating, drinking and enjoying your time in Paris.

TOUR EIFFEL, 11X14, ORIGINAL COLLAGE

If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.

Ernest Hemingway

If you cannot live in Paris, do the next best thing...pretend!

Hubby has been  minding the home fires while I flit through London and Paris with my friend Donna and my granddaughter, Courtney.  We will return in a few days, full of inspiration!

PARISIAN CAFE, 8X8, OIL, SOLD

I am planning a trip to Paris, so when I saw Genie's photograph of a cafe table waiting to be cleared, I had to paint it!  Genie is the author of the interesting and fun blog, "Paris and Beyond" and she was kind enough to allow me to use her photograph from her January 15, 2011 post.  Check out her blog.  If you love Paris, you will love her blog.  If you have never been there, you will want to go!  Her fantastic photos of Paris, decorated for Christmas is reason enough to spend time with her.

ANTIQUE FRENCH TEAPOT, 16X16, OIL

I am sort of an Etsy fanatic and I found this teapot listed on a site http://www.dandeliondecor.etsy.com/.  I contacted the owner of the site, a very nice French woman, and she gave me permission to use her photograph for this painting.  She still has the teapot, so if anyone wants to buy it, along with my painting, it can happen!  Wouldn't that be fun?

Today is my granddaughter, Courtney's birthday.  She is sweet 16 today.  Remember when we used to say "sweet 16 and never been kissed"?  Hmmm, I will need to talk to her about that.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COURTNEY!

What an exciting sight to see. Here it is not sparkling, but is decked out in its evening lights and surrounded by the usual admiring crowds.

SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE LOUVRE

While in Paris, I walked over to the Louvre one Saturday in the early evening. A group of French teenagers were in the courtyard practicing their dance moves. The boys were huddled together until one or another would break out in wild dance moves. The girls were perched on a ledge, watching. I had to snap this photo of their feet dangling over the side, with long evening shadows.
