One of the members of our painting group had really good news last week so we decided to celebrate.
At 9:30 in the morning we poured pink champagne and ate chocolates. An unusual but divine breakfast for me. Then we went to our easels and painted. Is it any wonder that my brushstrokes are much more relaxed? Do I need to throw out my fiber cereal and buy Godiva stock? I have to admit is was fun!

Very nice painting, Carol! Love the colors and the composition is tight!
Very nice, Carol. I especially like the dish and its shadow. Your colors are lovely. I think champagne and chocolate makes a wonderful breakfast and helps in the studio!!! :)
These are great! Beautiful colors, good composition. Great use of just a bit of warm in the background!
Love the cool tones of this painting and the dusty skin of the plums.

Beautiful composition. Brush strokes are fabulous!
What a great idea and what a delicious painting. The brushwork is wonderful and the colors are delightful.
Nice plums Carol. Love the warm tones in the front plum against the cooler back plum. And the light on all of the plums is beautiful.
Fabulous variety of blues and purples. Love the way the red peeks out here and there and the yellow background is perfect with the palette.
What a lovely painting! It must have been great painting after such an interesting breakfast! All your work is of a very high standard.
This piece is AWESOME. Love the color combo. I always pour pink champagne over my fiber cereal.
Very nice, but you should skip the fiber cereal and just eat the plums (after painting them, of course).
Great piece, lively brush strokes and really enjoy the red showing through.
Champagne for breakfast! What a great bunch you guys are.
Amazing plums, your brush strokes and palette are perfect.
exactly right in both color and shapes-very nice
I love the brush work and the different shades of purples/blues against the yellows and the little bits of red coming through - chocolate for breakfast - why not?
