EGGStravagenza, 6X8, OIL SOLD

SOLD
A little switch here as I was in a more abstract frame of mind when this came off the easel.  What I thought would be a simple exercise with three simple eggs, turned into a much more challenging afternoon at

As you know, I love all things French...especially Paris.  This beautifully constructed card from Clayslipper on Etsy is one of many I have purchased and sent to my favorite people.  It is so much more satisfying to send  a gorgeous, lovingly designed and hand crafted card to the people you love, than just picking one off the shelf at the grocery store.  Clayslipper has some of the best I have found and they are packaged beautifully.  Check her out.
Bon Jour!

J*E*L*L*-OOOOO*, 6x8, OIL SOLD

I decided to try something fun today...see if I could make a bowl of jello look a little dramatic.  You remember jello, that wiggly stuff, this is the orange flavor.  Of course, I had to pile it high with whipped cream.  You see, I have been trying to diet and jello is the only dessert allowed.  After six weeks of it, I am pretty much sick of it.  I dream of cookies and chocolate.

PARISIAN CAFE, 8X8, OIL, SOLD

I am planning a trip to Paris, so when I saw Genie's photograph of a cafe table waiting to be cleared, I had to paint it!  Genie is the author of the interesting and fun blog, "Paris and Beyond" and she was kind enough to allow me to use her photograph from her January 15, 2011 post.  Check out her blog.  If you love Paris, you will love her blog.  If you have never been there, you will want to go!  Her fantastic photos of Paris, decorated for Christmas is reason enough to spend time with her.

Cindy Michaud blogged about ME!  Thanks, Cindy!  Read it here, it has a great Beef Bourguignon  recipe attached.

AND THEY JUST KEEP ROLLING ON, AND ON, AND ON, OIL, 6X8, SOLD

For me, it is almost as relaxing to paint the ocean as it is to just sit there and enjoy it.  The repeating waves are just the most calming, hypnotic thing I can think of.  Add in the sea birds calling and the roar of the waves and my shoulders unclench and my eyes start to droop in minutes.  What is your magic place that makes the world go away?

HENS AND CHICKS II, 12X12, OIL

This is the companion to my previous post.  If you look closely, you will see a baby jade plant nestled in the pot too.

$275

Some of you may not be familiar with Etsy, so I decided to start showing some of the great items I see there.  Everything is hand-made or vintage on Etsy and I have found some of the most unique items.  It is my favorite shopping place these days.  This is a cute notions book from Karamagic.  Made of vintage materials with a bright gingham print bow for closure.  Wouldn't you love to pull this out of your suitcase when you find a button has popped off?  It's enough to make you WANT that to happen!  And only $7.00!  What a great "just because" gift for your best friend.

HENS AND CHICKS AND BABY TOES, 12X12, OIL, SOLD

I have always been attracted to succulents and when I started traveling more frequently they seemed to be the answer to my gardening problems.  They are happy with or without water, with or without sun.  You don't even have to plant them.  Just throw them on the ground and they grow.

This pot was looking very pretty, sitting in the sun, so I had to paint it.  This is the first of two, I will post the companion piece next time.

Don't forget about my painting give-away on Etsy...read the January 16th post for details.
